Tenera & Baca
Silk-screen decorations on faience are known as either Tenera or Baca, depending on the technique. In connection with the Tenera series, which was established in 1958 by Aluminia's artistic director Nils Thorsson, six Nordic artisans were commissioned to design the motifs. They were all women and were called Beth Breyen, Berte Jessen, Grete Helland-Hansen, Kari Christensen, Inge-lise Kofoed and Marianne Johnson. Later, production was transferred to Royal Copenhagen, and both manufacturers are represented in the selection below.
