About Harsted Antik
My name is Kristian Harsted-Simonsen, and I am the owner of Harsted Antik located in Store Kongensgade 94, 1264 Copenhagen. For me, it's something very special to hold an object in your hand that has a story behind it – whether it's a 200-year-old glass or a classic lamp. What matters is that the old things have a long tradition and a beautiful design.
And so it is important to me that things come out of the cupboards and out of the drawers, so that they can be given new life in a modern context. Georg Jensen did not design jewellery, jugs or cutlery to be hidden away on the bottom shelf. Among several other exciting things, I have mainly displayed Danish glass on my shelves.
I have made it easy for you to supplement your collection of cut crystal glass, glass from Holmegaard or other well-known glassworks. Do you know Fyens Glasværk or Kastrup? Danish glass is a very special and very popular thing, and in this way they stand in contrast to many foreign glasses, which have been reserved for the wealthy upper class of the past. I am happy to tell you more about this in the store.
Have you inherited a glass collection from your grandparents and has the ravages of time caused the number to dwindle? Has the dishwasher caused glass plague? Maybe you want to start a new and modern collection or something completely different. In any case, the selection is large in my little shop, and you should be very welcome to come by and let yourself be tempted.
My business opened its doors in December 2016, but my interest in antiques goes way back. Already at a very young age, I started going to the flea markets around Copenhagen, and then I also got my eyes on the "white gold" - better known as porcelain. In particular, the classic mussel meal from Royal Copenhagen caught my interest and is still one of my great passions to this day.
That and several other frames adorn my shop, so come by and get plenty of inspiration for your home. Sincerely, Kristian Harsted-Simonsen
