About us

My name is Kristian Harsted-Simonsen, and I am the owner of Harsted Antik located at Store Kongensgade 94, 1264 Copenhagen.
For me, it is something very special to have something in my hand that has a story behind it – whether it is a 200-year-old glass or a classic lamp. What matters is that the old things have a long tradition and a beautiful design. And it is important to me that the things come out of the cupboards and out of the drawers, so that they can get new life in a modern context. Georg Jensen did not design jewelry, jugs or cutlery to be hidden away on the bottom shelf.
Among several other exciting things, I have mainly put Danish glass on my shelves. I have made it easy for you to supplement your collection of cut crystal glasses, glasses from Holmegaard or other well-known glassworks. Do you know Fyens Glasværk or Kastrup? Danish glass is a very special and very popular thing, and in this way it stands in contrast to many foreign glasses, which have been reserved for the rich upper class of the past. I am happy to tell you much more about this in the shop.
Have you inherited a glass collection from your grandparents, and has the ravages of time caused the number to dwindle? Has the dishwasher caused glass plague? Maybe you want to start a new and modern collection or something completely different. Regardless, the selection is large in my little shop, and you are very welcome to come by and be tempted.
My business opened its doors in December 2016, but my interest in antiques goes back a long way. Even as a young man, I started visiting flea markets around Copenhagen, and that's when I also discovered "the white gold" - better known as porcelain. The classic blue-fluted tableware from Royal Copenhagen in particular caught my interest and remains one of my great passions to this day. That and several other sets adorn my shop, so come by and get lots of inspiration for your home.
Kind regards, Kristian Harsted-Simonsen
