Xanadu white wine glass
Height 19.5 cm. Xanadu was drawn by Arje Griegst for Holmegaard. The glass fits the conch shell frame that Arje Griegst designed for Royal Copenhagen. The glass is produced by a 5-part process, which has made it an extremely expensive glass to produce. The glass has an optical twist as the only decoration, this has been achieved by blowing the glass in the form of then attaching the stem and twisting the optic inward in the glass to finish off by blasting the glass and heating the rim so that it appears soft and lip-friendly. The glass was produced from 1982 and was completely discontinued in 2002.
