Unique ring by Bernhard Hertz

Ring size 58. The ring is stamped - 925S BH. In the shaded area it says "Handmade" The ring is with two purple semi-precious stones, amethysts, cut like thistle buds. Bernhard Hertz (1834-1909) was trained as a goldsmith in 1858. His journeyman piece, an arm ring, was bought for 300 reichsdaler by King Frederik d. 7, who gave it to Countess Danner. The arm ring is exhibited today at Designmuseum Danmark, formerly the Museum of Art and Industry. Hertz used the money from the sale to build a workshop in Store Kongensgade. The workshop and front house were completely preserved in 1985 and can therefore still be seen in the street.
