Height 33 cm. Width 28 cm.

Unique sculpture by Georg Thylstrup from the 1920s.

The figure depicts a naked woman being held captive by a dragon.

The woman's legs have a tail, so she could be a mermaid. The figure is made of polished clay where the woman has black painted hair. The figure is in very good condition, with a scratch on the dragon's back. The dragon's tail has a little yellow on it and this seems to have been added. This could also have been done from the factory.

Georg Thylstrup has worked at Georg Jensen, Mogens Ballin, together with Patrick Nordstrøm at Royal Copenhagen and at Ipsens Enke. He has exhibited at a wide range of world exhibitions and is exhibited in, among others, Stockholm and Helsinki, at the British Museum, the Kaiser Friedrich Museum in Berlin, the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Musée national de la céramique in Sévres.
