Barrel glass from Holmegaard, shot glass

Height 8 cm.

The glass is made with a sand nail at the bottom, which indicates that it is from before 1900. It has fine driving lines in the glass from the glassmaker's rod and two fine mollexes. Barrel glass appears in Danish glass catalogs from 1850 until the 1920s. They are made both at Holmegaard under the name Tøndeglas and at, among others, Aalborg Glasværk under the name Baril. Aalborg Glasværk stopped making them around 1900, while Holmegaard continued production for another 20 years.
