Large barrel glass from Holmegaard, 13 cm.
Height 13 cm.
The glass has a sharp crack at the bottom, which indicates that it is from before 1880. The glass has wear on the cuppa, so it appears a little dull, but otherwise in good condition. Barrel glass appears in Danish glass catalogs from 1850 until the 1920s. They were made both at Holmegaard under the name Tøndeglas and at, among others, Aalborg Glasværk under the name Baril. Aalborg Glasværk stopped making them around 1900, while Holmegaard continued production for another 20 years.
