Large beak vase from Holmegaard
Height 36 cm.
The vase is signed RC PL 2000. From 1985 to 2000, Holmegaard was part of Royal Scandinavia, which consisted of Georg Jensen, Royal Copenhagen, Orrefors, Illums Bolighus and Holmegaard. Many of their products were sold under the Royal Copenhagen name. The beak vase was designed by Per Lütken in 1952 and only went out of production in the 1970s. It was briefly resumed around 2000 to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Holmegaard Glassworks, but it proved too technically difficult to produce the Beak Vase again, so production was discontinued and only a few vases were released.
