Rare tulip glass from Holmegaard

Height 9.5 cm.

Tulip glasses are first seen in Holmegaard Glasværk's catalog from 1867 and where they are offered for the last time in the catalog from 1915. They are offered in at least six colors and with gilded decoration, which were offered at double the price, which are very rare today. This glass is cobalt blue and painted with an ala grecque border in gold and lines in gold. The glass is mouth blown and has a spherical mark underneath, but with remnants of its sharp crack.

The glass is in good condition, with some expected wear on the gold decoration and dullness in the glass.
