Rare opaline cat

Opaline glass originated in France in the early 1800s and became most widespread in the middle of this period. The glass mass itself is related to the well-known crystal glass, which makes it translucent, despite its added color. Opaline glass is most often seen used for business card bowls, small decanters, trays and liqueur glasses. Figures like this are extremely rare. This figure is from 1880-1890 and is blown into shape.
