Rare little Ildpot elephant
Height 6 cm. Length 8 cm.
Very rare Ildpot elephant designed by Jeanne Grut for Royal Copenhagen. Ildpot was originally developed in collaboration with Grethe Meyer in the 1970s. Jeanne Grut designed a wide range of modern figures in the 1970s-80s, including the large blue primordial fish, a black swan, a pair of dogs and the well-known musk oxen in chamotte. This elephant was originally made of faience and decorated as if it were wearing a blanket. This version in Ildpot mass was most likely made for an exhibition at Royal Copenhagen's flagship store in the 1980s, in a very limited number. It has no model number and must be considered a unique production. It is intended for baking bread in - original recipe can be included.
