These glasses are made of heavy fine crystal glass. Serges have been made in the Belgian Val Saint Lambert since the 1870s and were briefly made at Holmegaard during World War I and immediately after. The glass originated in Val Saint Lambert in the 1960s. The glass is cut on a form called Werner, which is decorated in several versions, of which this cut is called Serges. Serges are cut in crystal glass. This is necessary to be able to form all the many crosses and stars.
