Set of 12 Adam rinsing bowls from Holmegaard

Diameter 12 cm. Height 7 cm.

The bowls are sold in sets of 12 bowls. I have 2 sets for a total of 24 bowls. Adam is one of the original import services from Belgian Val Saint Lambert. Imports started in 1891 and production was transferred to Holmegaard in the years 1910-1930, when the glass was discontinued. The cut on Adam is a guilloche. This is a technique where the glass is covered with wax in which small copper wheels run according to a set pattern. The glass is then dipped in acid and the decoration is etched into the glass. Rinsing bowls are mentioned in Holmegaard's catalog from 1928, when they were discontinued.
