Lalaing champagne flute
Height 17.5 cm.
Lalaing was originally manufactured at Val Saint Lambert in Belgium, but was for a short period of time manufactured at Holmegaard Glasværk. The two glassworks entered into the first import agreement in 1871 for 34 glass services, which was renegotiated several times and greatly reduced.
However, Lalaing remained an imported product until World War I, when Holmegaard obtained a license to manufacture the glass and continued to do so until 1934. Production continued in Belgium until the 1960s.
The glass is mouth-blown crystal glass with a beautiful hollow air stem. It is cut with wide facets that run the entire height of the glass, from foot to cuppa. This gives the glass a hexagonal foot.
Perfect condition.
