Clear fishing glass from Fyens Glasværk
Height 18 cm.
Diameter at opening 11 cm.
Beautiful clear fishing glass from the late 1800s.
The glass was in production from 1886 until 1954, when it was last seen in the glassworks' catalogues. It was first seen in the Kastrup Glassworks' catalogue from 1886 and when Kastrup and Fyens Glassworks merged, it appeared in their joint catalogue until it was discontinued. The glass is made of clear glass and sea blue. It is mouth-blown with a fine optic, a heavy edge that has been blown off and heated so that it is not sharp.
At the bottom there is a sharp crack from the glassmaker's rod, which shows that this is from before 1900.
It has some haze in it, but it is only visible under bright direct light.
