Ice flower vase in clear glass

Height 10 cm.

Ice Flower was designed by Jacob E. Bang for Holmegaard in 1934. The series consists of drinking glasses, jugs and carafes.

Isblomst is made in a very special way, which Jacob Bang got inspiration for from Sweden. There they had experimented with applying wood glue to the glass and letting it dry on heat pipes, which resulted in a "crushed" surface when the glue broke off and took the outer layer of the glass with it.
