Traditionally, these salt cellars are said to have been made as fake glass from leftovers from the kiln. However, a few turn up with Holmegaard's official labels, so they must have been sold from Holmegaard's factory outlet.

The salt cellar naturally depicts Holmegaard's logo, the white mute swan, designed in the 1920s.

The base is black.
