Niels Erik From founded a silversmith's shop at the age of just 23 in 1931. It was not until 1944 that he began to stamp his jewelry with his own name. From is particularly known for his beautiful, art nouveau jewelry in silver.

These are often set with semi-precious stones or amber. In the 1950s, From began producing more modern jewelry, in a more functionalist style.

After having sold jewelry designed by other artists with great success in the 1970s and 1980s, Niels Erik From's workshop closed in 1990.
