Fishing glass from Fyens Glasværk
Height 17 cm.
Diameter when opened 15.5 cm.
Beautiful sea blue fishing glass from the late 1800s.
The glass is in production from 1886 until 1954 when it appears in the glassworks' catalogs for the last time. It first appears in Kastrup Glassworks' catalog from 1886 and when Kastrup and Fyens Glassworks merged, it appeared in their joint catalog until it was discontinued.
The glass is made of clear glass and this slightly rare sea blue color. It is mouth-blown with a fine optic, tongued edge that is chipped and heated so that it is not sharp. Underneath is a sharp crack from the glassmaker's rod, which shows that this is from before 1900.
The vase is in good condition.
