Don Carlos porter glass
Height 18 cm.
Don Carlos porter glass from the early 1900s.
The glass is made at a number of Danish glassworks and is sometimes called, egg shape. Holmegaard produces the glass as a complete service in at least four sizes, from schnapps to large porter glasses, under the name "Nr. 72". A crystal version with a faceted stem was sold under the name "Bodega".
Kastrups sells the same model under the name Bodega, which unlike Holmegaard's "Bodega" was not in crystal or faceted. Aalborg has been producing the glass since 1899, but it was discontinued in 1905.
The glasses are mouth-blown with clear flaking and a couple have a fine sand navel at the bottom. They are in good condition with expected signs of wear.
