Charming prism chandelier from the 1880s for candles
Height 80 cm.
Diameter 50 cm.
Beautiful chandelier from the late 19th century with an unusual combination of prisms.
Its base is bound with square prisms like a bowl with many icicles hanging from it. A wreath also sits around it with square prisms and icicles. It has four fixed brass arms with ground pipe beads on separated by beads that at the top are assembled in a metal wreath that has a wreath with prisms and a hanging stud with beads.
A chain with elongated pointed prisms runs to each arm. In the middle hangs a large polished prism, a fir cone.
Many of the prisms have a fine old purple tint - very charming.
The chandelier is in fine original condition with patina. It is almost impossible to avoid rejection of square prisms.
