Cascade glass by Per Lütken

Height 18.5 cm.

Diameter 11.5 cm.

The foot is slightly oval.

It is signed Holmegaard PL 2380.

The glass is larger than red wine and would work well as a beer glass, more like a beer goblet.

It is inlaid with brown colors with a hint of green and cyan.

Per Lütken designed Cascade for Holmegaard Glasværk in the late 1960s. The series was discontinued during the 1980s.

Cascade consists of bowls, vases and, quite unusually, also drinking glasses in 3 sizes. The parts of the series are turned freehand according to the approved models. The white base color is applied to glass shards that melt into the mass and are pulled out of shape along the shape of the object.
