Blue Carnival glass

Height 8.5 cm.

The glass is signed Holmegaard CHE.

Carneval or Phantasy was designed by Christel Holmgren-Exner in 1970 for Holmegaard Glasværk and went out of production just a few years later.

The series was intended to be a bar and drinks series, but was relatively complicated and therefore expensive to produce.

Each piece is considered unique, as each piece is decorated differently. The series came in blue, yellow and red and combinations thereof.

The glass has a microscopic bump on the drinking rim where the finger just notices it. This probably comes from the production, as the glass is flat-ground after being blown off the glass pipe.
