Masonic glass with air bead
SKU:14067
Height 11.5 cm.
Masonic glass first appeared in Holmegaard's catalog in 1853.
After the year 1900, they were no longer part of the catalogue.
Masonic glass is also called Rakkerglas, due to the tradition of racking with them. To shake is to knock the glass on the table after a finished toast. This was a tradition in inns, inns and similar places in the 1800s. Most often the glass broke and the foot broke off. Despite their widespread use in the past, Masonic glasses are therefore rare today.
The glass is in good condition with some marks on the glass.
