    Mason jar with air bead

    Regular price 550,00 kr

    Height 11.5 cm.

Mason jars first appeared in Holmegaard's catalog in 1853.

After 1900 they were no longer part of the catalog.

Mason jars are also called Rakkerglas, due to the tradition of raking with them. To rake is to bang the glass on the table after a finished toast. This was a tradition in inns, taverns and similar places in the 1800s. Most often the glass broke and the foot broke off. Despite their widespread use in the past, Mason jars are therefore rare today.

The glass is in good condition with some marks on the glass.
