Set of 4 early Bing & Grondahl cups
Height 5.5 cm. Diameter of saucer 12 cm.
The cups are marked from the period 1853-1898. The cups have water lilies in relief, on both the cup and saucer. The cups were designed by Pietro Krohn shortly after the Hejrestellet was designed for the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889. This was designed in the years 1885-1889, after Pietro Krohn was inspired by the art historian Karl Madsen's work "Japanese Painting".
There is a glued handle and two saucers with chips. Natural wear on the gold edges of the cups.
