    8 rare Lalaing hock glasses

    Regular price 6.000,00 kr
    SKU:16475

    Height 19.6–20 cm.

The set consists of 8 glasses: 2 light green, 2 dark blue, 2 light blue, 1 pink, and 1 dark green.

We have never seen this model of Lalaing glass before. They vary slightly in height but have not been ground down; they all feature a finely polished rim.

Lalaing was originally produced in Val Saint Lambert, Belgium, but for a short period of time was produced at Holmegaard Glassworks.

The two glassworks entered into the first import agreement in 1871 for 34 glass services, which was renegotiated several times and greatly reduced. However, Lalaing remained an import until World War I, when Holmegaard obtained a license to manufacture the glass and continued to do so until 1934. Production continued in Belgium until the 1960s. The glass is mouth-blown crystal glass with a beautiful hollow air stem. It is cut with wide facets that run the entire height of the glass, from foot to cuppa. This gives the glass a hexagonal foot.

    Perfect condition.
