A beautiful Blanc de Chine vase featuring Pan with a flute and Syrinx on the other side. Pan is the god of nature, the forests, and shepherds. He is often associated with music and his characteristic pan flute. Syrinx is a young nymph who loves freedom and nature. Pan is in love with Syrinx; she bargains for her life, transforms into plants by the riverbank, and escapes Pan. Pan then fashions a flute from reeds by the riverbank, thereby keeping Syrinx close to him.
The model was designed by Hans Henrik Hansen for Royal Copenhagen.
It is in perfect condition.
