Bodil Eje was a Danish artist specializing in enamel. She decorated i.a. boxes like these for Alfred Klitgaard, always in an asymmetrical decoration, where the colors were allowed to wander freely. Alfred Klitgaard's boxes are characterized by a high joinery quality - they have a wooden hinge, unlike others, which have metal fittings and screws. The box is marked underneath with "Klitgaard Denmark" and the label "Bodil Eje".
The box is in perfect condition with dividers.
